Community Success Manager at Teak

Kelly Heckman has over 20 years of work experience in various roles. Kelly began their career in 1997 as the Owner of ACP Management Services, providing outsourced medical insurance billing services. In 2001, they became the Operations Manager at WarCry Network, where they oversaw 5-18 site managers and their staff, managed advertising inventory, and handled human resources. In 2004, they founded GamersInfo.net, a review website for the video game industry, and was the primary journalist from 2004-09. Kelly also wrote for Inside Social Games in 2010 and Gamezebo in 2008. From 2005-11, they worked as a Community Manager/Marketing at Tulga Games, where they managed the community for an AAA MMO, developed events, built community tools, and managed communication between the development team and community. Additionally, they were responsible for marketing campaigns in print and online. In 2012, they became the Community Manager at Spicy Horse Games, where they interacted daily as the gatekeeper between the development team and players, wrote support documents, and implemented and analyzed marketing plans, analytics packages, etc. Finally, they were the Community Success Manager at Teak.io from 2013-present, where they ensure new and existing clients understand how to use the product, provides demos to prospective clients, and creates and manages help files.

Kelly Heckman began their educational journey in 1982 at Northern Arizona University where they studied Music. Kelly then attended Moorpark College from 1991-1993, focusing on Evolutionary Biology. In 1994-1995, they studied Marketing/Spatial Design at Santa Monica College. From 2007-2009, they attended University of Phoenix and earned an Associate of Science degree in Communications with a focus in Communications/Sociology. Kelly then attended Portland State University from 2009-2010, earning an Associate of Science degree in Middle East Studies with a focus in Liberal Studies: International Relations, Middle East. Finally, they graduated from the University of Oregon in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cultural Anthropology.
