Richard Strauss

Richard Strauss has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Richard started their career in 1983, working in various capacities for Brunswick Corporation-owned companies such as Sea Ray, Mercury Powerboat, Boston Whaler, and Marine Group. Richard held positions in warranty and customer service, product development and engineering, and new product development management.

In 1997, they joined Marine Concepts as a technical salesperson, responsible for sales and project management for tooling and engineering services. In 1999, they founded and served as the principal of Island Coast Boatworks, specializing in warranty and insurance repairs, restorations, and repowers for boat manufacturers.

Subsequently, they worked as a broker/salesperson for Strauss Yachts from 2012 to 2014. Then, they became the Director of Manufacturing at Teakdecking Systems from 2014 to 2017. After that, they assumed the role of Director of Technical Sales and Marketing at GG Schmitt & Sons from 2017 to 2019.

Currently, Richard is serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Teakdecking Systems, Inc. since August 2019.

Richard Strauss attended Jacksonville University from 1979 to 1981, where they studied Mechanical Engineering. Following that, from 1981 to 1983, they enrolled at the Florida Institute of Technology and obtained an A.S. degree in Marine Technology.
