Jorge Pena

Jorge Pena has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jorge started their career in 1998 as a Sysadmin at Cabovisão, SA, where they managed Windows desktop systems and HP/UX servers and handled network configuration. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Programmer at Megamedia, where they gained experience in VB and ASP programming for desktop and internet applications.

In the early 2000s, Jorge became a Partner at Direxis - Soluções Inteligentes, Lda., where they took on the roles of lead developer and sysadmin. Jorge designed and coded various desktop products in Delphi for clients and also worked on PHP/MySQL website development.

Next, Jorge joined Wiz Interactive in 2004, taking on the role of Programmer. Jorge led internet programmers, managed Linux and Windows server administration, and developed websites using PHP, MySQL, and Flash.

From 2006 to 2013, Jorge worked as a Programmer at MOP - Multimédia Outdoors Portugal. Jorge was responsible for leading the development of the company intranet system written in PHP + MySQL and maintained and upgraded the system.

In 2013, Jorge joined PADDYPOWER as a Web Developer and later became the Web Development Team Lead in 2014. Jorge led a team of 6 Web Developers and QA and made technical and architecture decisions for the web products of the Casino/Live Casino and Vegas Channels.

In 2018, Jorge became the Chief Technology Officer at TeamSportz.Pro. Jorge played a key role in developing an AI sports platform that uses AI to analyze and generate accurate performance data for players, while coaches utilize the web platform to support player development.

Currently, Jorge works at Pond5 as the Director of Engineering, a position they started in January 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Developer Manager, leading a team of developers from September 2015 to January 2021.

Jorge Pena completed their education in a chronological order. In 1991, they attended Instituto Superior Técnico, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in Computer Software Engineering. Jorge successfully completed their studies in 1997. Several years later, from 2009 to 2012, Jorge enrolled at ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
