Giovanni Gandolfo

Giovanni Gandolfo is a distinguished piccolo professor at Hochschule für Musik Detmold since October 2023. As a piccolo soloist, Giovanni has held positions at Oper Frankfurt since September 2018 and Sächsischen Staatskapelle Dresden since October 2016, collaborating with renowned conductors such as Christian Thielemann. Giovanni has also performed with WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln and NDR Sinfonieorchester, contributing to various orchestral projects since 2012. Additionally, Giovanni has been a member of the Orchestra Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Orchestra and Filarmonica of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, participating in notable tours across Japan, China, and Europe under the baton of various eminent conductors. Giovanni's education includes a Prix de Perfectionnement avec Mention Très Bien in flute and chamber music from ECOLE NATIONALE DE MUSIQUE DE DANSE ET D'ART DRAMATIQUE (1999-2002).
