Matthew Batey currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Culinary at Teatro Group since June 2017, also contributing as Corporate Executive Chef. In October 2023, Matthew took on the role of Board Member for the Alberta Hospitality Association. Prior experience includes Executive Chef at The NASH Restaurant & OFFCUT BAR from July 2014 to June 2017, and Executive Winery Chef at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery from June 2007 to March 2014. Additional roles include Restaurant Chef at Beyond Restaurant, Sous Chef at Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, Chef de Partie at La Belle Auberge Restaurant and Catch Restaurant & The Oyster Bar, and Apprentice/1st Cook at Fairmont Empress Hotel. Matthew holds a Level II Wine certification from the International Sommelier Guild and attended Vancouver Island University.
