Tamar Huggins has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tamar is the Founder and CEO of Tech Spark, Canada's first tech and design school that focuses on empowering young girls and children of color through innovative tech programming. At Tech Spark, Tamar is responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic planning, and ensuring the growth and sustainability of the organization.
Prior to Tech Spark, Tamar was the Founder and Executive Director of Driven Accelerator Group, a mentorship-focused accelerator program dedicated to building innovative tech startups led by underrepresented entrepreneurs. During their time at Driven, they successfully graduated 8 startups that collectively raised $1.1 million in funding.
Tamar also worked as a Principal Consultant at knexxion communication group, where they led client projects, analyzed their needs, and delivered creative solutions that exceeded expectations. Tamar acted as a liaison between the clients and the consulting firm, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the projects.
Additionally, Tamar has experience as a Contributing Writer at The Huffington Post, where they shared their expertise in career planning, networking, and communications. Tamar has also worked as a Digital Media Planner at Suite 66 (Rydium Inc.) and as a Media Planner at Cossette.
Furthermore, Tamar served as the Marketing Chair at the Black Business and Professional Association, where they developed and executed targeted communication plans for the BBPA Harry Jerome Awards. Their responsibilities included managing and mentoring the marketing team, leading tactical research development, developing social media marketing strategies, and negotiating media rates and positioning on behalf of the association.
Tamar Huggins pursued their education from 2004 to 2007 at Centennial College. During this period, they studied Creative Advertising and focused on Media Planning as their field of study.
