Before joining MRIGlobal, Joe worked as a Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute for six years. Joe designed, analyzed, and tested space science instruments and spaceflight computers, gaining significant hands-on experience. Noteworthy programs they worked on include the Solar Wind Around Pluto (SWAP) instrument aboard the New Horizons spacecraft, the Ion Mass Analyzer (IMA) sensor aboard the Rosetta spacecraft, and the Remote Interface Unit (RIU) on the Deep Impact spacecraft.

Early in their career, Joe worked as an Engineer at Fike Corporation.

Joe Langle obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2001.
