Martin Smith

Martin Smith is an experienced professional currently serving as an IP Advisor at Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON) and as a Startup Advisor at TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario. In addition, Martin holds the role of Senior Associate at Adventus Research + Consulting Inc. Martin's previous positions include Strategy Development Director and Business Commercialization and Intellectual Property Analyst at Alimentiv, as well as Medical Innovation Fellow at WORLDiscoveries. Martin also served as a Research Analyst at UHN Technology Development & Commercialization and contributed to outreach at The Ontario Brain Institute. With a strong background in research, including a role as a Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children, and a solid academic foundation consisting of a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology, a Medical Innovation Fellowship, and a post-doctoral fellowship in Microscopy, Martin has a proven track record in advancing innovation and market strategies within the medical and technology sectors.
