Drew Sims

Drew Sims is an experienced engineering professional specializing in instrumentation and control (I&C) and startup operations within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Startup Coordinator at Southern Company since August 2018, Drew also holds the position of Lead I&E Startup Engineer at Technical Diagnostic Services since May 2016, focusing on gas pipeline projects. Additional roles include I&C Startup Engineer for TDS/Voith, where Drew contributed to the startup of three hydro turbines, and Lead I&C Engineer/Startup Specialist at TDS for Black Hills Corporation. Previous experience encompasses various engineering roles at Energy Solutions, Bluewater Energy, Caliper, and J Givoo Consultants, including notable contributions to the commissioning of an Ultra Super Critical Coal-fired power plant. Drew Sims graduated from York Technical College with a degree in Industrial Electricity and Electronics and completed education at Buford High School.
