Dick Gahan is a seasoned educator and engineer with extensive experience in the field of electronic engineering. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Electronic Engineering at Tallaght since July 2006, Gahan specializes in areas such as Digital Electronics, Structured Design, Digital System Design, Telecommunications, and Data Communications. Prior to this role, Gahan was the Design Centre Manager at Lightstorm Networks from July 2004 to July 2006, overseeing operations in the Dublin office of a semiconductor chip company. Gahan's earlier experience includes a significant tenure at 3Com Corporation between 1993 and 2004 as a Consultant Engineer, where Gahan architected and designed the switching silicon for the Linkswitch family. Additionally, Gahan contributed as a Consultant Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation from 1986 to 2003, mentoring engineers and architecting systems while serving on the Technical Advisory Board. Gahan holds a B.E. in Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin, earned between 1980 and 1986, and completed the Leaving Cert at Enniscorthy CBS from 1975 to 1980.
