Matthias Patz

Matthias Patz is a seasoned professional in innovation and technology management, currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer at BIOTRONIK and Geschäftsführer at BIOLAB Innovation GmbH since January 2022. Additionally, Matthias holds roles as a Digitaler Beirat with Deutsche Digitale Beiräte and Vorsitzender des Kuratoriums at Technologiestiftung Berlin, both since 2024 and 2018 respectively. Matthias has an extensive background at DB Systel GmbH from 2006 to 2021, progressing through various positions including Vice President & Program Lead for Gaia-X and Vice President Innovation & New Ventures. Beyond corporate roles, Matthias is an advisor and mentor for startups through initiatives such as Startup Weekend and Google NEXT. Educationally, Matthias holds two Master’s degrees in Innovation Management and Business Administration from Technische Universität Berlin and University of Twente, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business Computing from University of Cooperative Education Rhein-Main.
