Sana Amairi-Pyka

Sana Amairi-Pyka serves as the Lead Scientist for Quantum Communications at the Technology Innovation Institute, overseeing the Abu Dhabi Quantum Optical Ground Station, which enhances secure free-space optical communications and integrates the UAE into the global Quantum Key Distribution network. Additional roles include contributions as an External Expert for the European Commission and serving on the Programme Committee for the International Conference on Space Optics at the European Space Agency. Sana also holds the position of Vice Chair for the Space Photonics Technical Group at The Optical Society and participates in the Space Generation Advisory Council. Previous experience involves leadership in the European Photonics Industry Consortium, postdoctoral research at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and a doctoral program at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, complemented by advanced degrees from Leibniz Universität Hannover, Paris-Sud University, and IPEST.
