Mario Sottocorno

Mario Sottocorno has a strong and extensive work experience in the field of technology and manufacturing. Mario currently holds the position of Technology Manager at Technoprobe since October 2019.

Prior to this, they worked at Lumentum for a significant period of time. From January 2012 to September 2019, they served as the Sr Principal Engineer, Process Architect. In this role, they were responsible for managing process engineers to improve processes and achieve optimal yields. Mario also led the engineering team in implementing technological work packages for the production of 100 Gb modulators. From January 2006 to December 2011, they held the position of Manager of Manufacturing. Additionally, from January 2002 to December 2005, they held the role of Principal Process Engineer. Before joining Lumentum, they worked at Corning OTI SpA as the Manager of Manufacturing from July 2000 to December 2001. In this position, they oversaw chip modulator production and successfully managed 5X ramp-up programs.

Mario'swork experience also includes a tenure at Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi, where they worked from October 1992 to June 2000 as a Senior Process Development Engineer. During this time, they played a pivotal role in developing and constructing the first optical modulator prototypes made in Europe. Mario gained extensive experience in various photolithographic processes, as well as deposition, diffusion, surface cleaning, and wet and dry etching.

Mario'scareer journey began at STMicroelectronics, where they worked as a Lithography Process Engineer from October 1988 to September 1992. Prior to that, from September 1986 to September 1988, they worked as an Operator in production.

Mario Sottocorno obtained their High School Diploma in Tecnologia/tecnico industriale from ITIS Altiero Spinelli Sesto San Giovanni (Milano) between the years 1979 and 1984.
