James Maillu, PhD, is a climate-smart agricultural and inclusive enterprise development specialist with over 20 years of experience in market systems development focused on financial inclusion for smallholder farmers and MSMEs in East and West Africa. They have held positions such as Business Development Services Expert at Terra Nuova and Senior Business Advisor at TechnoServe, where they enhanced the management and income of micro and small enterprises. James also served as Programme Operations Manager at GVEP International, significantly exceeding targets in clean energy access and employment creation.
