Chris Dechert

Chris Dechert is an accomplished professional in the mining and metallurgical industry, currently serving as the Vice President of Copper Operations for Teck Resources Limited since August 2009. Previously, Chris held significant roles at Antamina from January 1999 to July 2009, including Vice President of Corporate Development and Concentrator Manager, as well as various positions in concentrator operations and metallurgy. Earlier in Chris's career at Noranda, from April 1990 to January 1999, roles included Senior Production Metallurgist and Concentrator Metallurgist at Brunswick Mines, alongside Senior Metallurgist at Heath Steele Mines. Chris earned a degree in Extractive Metallurgy, Mining and Mineral Engineering from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne between 1985 and 1990.
