Derek Garske

Derek Garske's work experience includes various roles in financial analysis and management. Derek is currently working as a Financial Analyst at Tecolote Research since May 2022. Prior to this, they had a long career in the United States Air Force starting in 2002. In their most recent role as Financial Analysis Flight Chief, Derek led a team of 17 employees in managing funding trends and providing financial advice to resource managers and wing leadership on a $213M annual budget. Derek also served as the Headquarters Air Force Space Command Lead Accounting Manager, overseeing programs like the Defense Travel System and Government Purchase Card. Throughout their career, Derek has demonstrated expertise in budget development, financial execution, decision support, and policy clarification.

Derek Garske is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting at The University of Arizona Global Campus, starting in 2021. Apart from their bachelor's degree, they also hold a Department of Defense Financial Management Level 2 certification, which was obtained in January 2020 from the United States Department of Defense.
