Timothy A. Springer

Co-Founder & Director at Tectonic Therapeutic

Tim is an immunologist and biophysicist serving as Latham Family Professor at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital, and a co-founder of Tectonic. He discovered integrins and their ligands in the 1980s, and this work enabled the discovery of novel treatments for autoimmune diseases including Amevive®, Raptiva®, Campath®, Velcade®, and Entyvio®. Tim is also the founder of the Institute for Protein Innovation. He is a highly successful serial entrepreneur and has been the founder and/or founding investor of multiple biotechnology companies (Morphic Therapeutic, Editas Medicine, Scholar Rock, Moderna, LeukoSite). Tim is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and his honors include the Crafoord Prize, The American Association of Immunologists Meritorious Career Award, the Stratton Medal from the American Society of Hematology, and the Basic Research Prize from the American Heart Association. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University.
