Derek Lee

Derek Lee began their work experience in 1987 as the General Manager of the Professional Services Unit at System-Pro Solutions Ltd. Derek then went on to work at JOS from 1996 to 2009, where they held the position of Director and General Manager. During their time at JOS, they established their own business under a Joint Venture with Jardine Matheson and served as a leading partner for companies such as ORACLE, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, and Avaya (Nortel).

In 2009, Derek became the Managing Director of Cornerstone Asia Tech Pte Ltd, where they extended an ASEAN based Biz Analytic Group to the Greater China Area. Derek focused on R&D in Business Analytic Templates for industries like banking, insurance, telco, and distribution.

From 2010 to 2011, Derek worked as the Country Director at NCS Group, overseeing the delivery of Managed Services and Mega Scale Project Implementations for various government departments in Hong Kong.

In 2011, they moved on to become the Managing Director of iAdvantage Ltd., a position they held until 2012.

From 2012 to 2019, Derek served as the Managing Director of Tinifields, where they focused on revenue growth, customer services, and P&L management. Derek also played a key role in enabling digital transformation and implementing 360-degree customer journey strategies for Tier 1 banks, telcos, and premium retailers.

Following their role at Tinifields, Derek joined IBM in 2019 as the Executive, Head of IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software. In this position, they led the IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software business in Hong Kong and Macau, overseeing solutions that covered IBM Public Cloud, Hybrid Multi-Cloud Middleware, and other cognitive and application software.

Most recently, Derek joined XnFinFin as the Executive VP & COO in 2021. In this role, they serve as the Chief of the Hong Kong operation with offshore R&D sites in China and India. Derek is fully responsible for the overall P&L and Business Operations, including sales, marketing, biz development, and services delivery. Derek is focused on driving continuous productivity gains, operational efficiency, and modernizing their ERP/CRM offerings under Hybrid Cloud with the latest AI and RPA technologies.

Derek Lee has a comprehensive education history. Derek pursued higher education from multiple institutions and obtained degrees in various fields of study.

In 1984, Derek attended The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and completed a Higher Diploma in Systems Analysis in 1987.

Later, in 1991, Derek pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Hull, which they successfully completed in 1993.

In 2003, Derek returned to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to pursue another Master's degree, this time in Professional Accounting. Derek completed this program in 2005.

Additionally, Derek has obtained several certifications from IBM. In November 2019, they obtained the "Technical Foundation for Sellers" certification. In July 2019, they achieved the "Insight Selling to the CxO" certification.

Furthermore, in May 2020, Derek earned the "Financial Selling: Executive Conversations" certification. In August 2020, they obtained three certifications: "IBM Selling Profession Certification - Level II," "Virtual Selling - Experienced," and "Virtual Selling - Foundation."
