João Martinho

João Martinho has a diverse work experience in the field of evaluation and learning. João currently works as the Director of Evaluation & Learning at TED Conferences, where they are responsible for overseeing the evaluation and learning processes. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning Manager at Climate-KIC, where they managed the measurement and evaluation activities. João also worked at Laudes Foundation as the Senior Evaluation Manager, where they managed strategic projects and contributed to the organization's theory of change. Before that, they served as the Evaluation Manager at Laudes Foundation and as the Project Management and Evaluation Office Coordinator at Fundação Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal. In addition, João has experience working as the Evaluation and Communication Coordinator at Plan Avaliação, as a Research Assistant at ISCTE-IUL, as an InovContacto Intern at Ambienta - Assessoria e Desenvolvimento Local, as a Research Assistant at Universidade do Minho, and as a Research Coordinator at Liga Operária Católica. Overall, João has gained expertise in evaluation, research, project management, and coordination throughout their career.

João Martinho completed a Master of Evaluation at the University of Melbourne from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Economia Bancária, Monetária e Financeira at Universidade do Minho from 2009 to 2011. Their undergraduate studies include a Bachelor's degree in Sociologia from Universidade do Minho, which they completed from 2003 to 2008. In addition, they spent a year at the University of Valencia from 2006 to 2007, where they also earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociologia.
