Mahesh Swaminathan has a strong background in project management and technical program management, spanning over 20 years of experience. Mahesh'smost recent position was as the Head of Project Management Office at TED Conferences, starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Technical Program Management at Disney Streaming Services from June 2018 to August 2021. In 2017, they held the role of Vice President of Engineering & Program Management at BAMTECH Media. Previously, they spent a significant portion of their career at Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), where they held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Engineering & Program Management. Mahesh also has experience at WarnerMedia, Online Retail Partners, and Zedak Corp., where they held roles ranging from engineering and project management to team lead developer and senior consultant. Throughout their career, Mahesh has been involved in numerous high-profile projects, including the launch and growth of various streaming services, migration of eCommerce systems, development of J2EE platforms, and the management of large-scale data migrations.
Mahesh Swaminathan has a strong educational background in both business project management and engineering. In 2006, they obtained a Certificate in Business Project Management from New York University. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1998, they earned a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Engineering from Tulane University. Mahesh completed their undergraduate studies at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, receiving a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) with Honors in Engineering from 1991 to 1995. Additionally, Mahesh has obtained certifications such as the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) from the Project Management Institute in 2021 and the Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2006.
