Gary Whitehead is an experienced executive with a robust background in leadership roles across various sectors, including energy, waste management, and renewable energy. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Duranta Energy Limited since June 2023, Gary also holds positions as a Consulting Specialist at Sustainable Strategies Europe since January 2020 and as Chair of Teesside Hospice since November 2019. Previous roles include Managing Director at Neales Waste Management, Interim CEO at ZONEME AUDIO, and Director of the Industrial and Commercial Division at SUEZ. Gary has extensive experience in customer development and project management in the renewable energy sector, having contributed to organizations such as Visy Industries and the Australian Council of Recycling. Gary holds an MBA from Durham University Business School, awarded between 1996 and 1999.

Teesside Hospice
Teesside Hospice offers palliative care for people over the age of 18 who are living with a life-limiting illness when a cure is no longer possible. Our care is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year and reaches thousands of local people. We know how challenging dealing with a life limiting illness can be. Our expert medical, nursing and allied health professional team offer pain and symptom control, psychological support as well as end of life care. Each year it costs £2.8 million to provide our care. Grants and NHS funding cover around a third of this cost, which means we need to raise £6,000 each and every day of the year to keep our services running.
