Dave L. is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the media and broadcasting industry. Currently serving as a Senior Adviser at TEGNA since June 2017, Dave also held the position of President & CEO at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) from October 2013 to February 2024 and previously served as Vice Chairman of the Board there. Additional leadership roles include Chairman of the Board for the NBC Television Affiliate Board of Directors from May 2017 to May 2019, Joint Board Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters from June 2015 to June 2017, and President of TEGNA MEDIA (formerly Gannett Broadcasting) from August 2007 to May 2017. Dave's expertise was further demonstrated as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Television Bureau of Advertising between January 2008 and January 2010, as well as Executive Vice President of Media Operations at Belo Corporation from December 2004 to 2007. Prior to these roles, Dave was President and General Manager of KING TV and Northwest Cable News from 2000 to 2004. Dave holds a B.A. in English from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed an executive program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2004.
