Kurt Rao

Kurt Rao is the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at TEGNA. Kurt has over 25 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry.

Kurt started their career at Paramount Pictures in 1993 as a Director. Kurt then moved to Viacom in 2000 and served as a Director there for seven years. In 2007, Kurt joined NBC Universal as the Vice President of Technology. Kurt held this position for one year before moving to Time Warner Inc. as the Vice President & Corporate CIO. Kurt spent eight years at Time Warner before moving to Time Inc. in 2016, where they served as the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer for two years. Kurt has been with TEGNA since April 2018.

Kurt Rao received their AS from Middlesex County College before going on to earn their degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Kurt later went on to earn their MBA from Monmouth University.

They are on a team with Anne Bentley - Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, Ed Busby - Senior Vice President of Strategy, and Grady Tripp - VP, Chief Diversity Officer. Their manager is Dave Lougee, President & CEO.
