Marco de Castro

Marco De Castro has a diverse and extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Marco began their career at Telkom SA in 1989, where they held various positions and gained experience in microwave transmission implementation and maintenance, OMC, and television transmission. Marco then moved on to Vodacom, where they served as a Field Operations Supervisor from 1995 to 1998. From 1999 to 2000, they worked at KPN/Orange as a Principal Engineer before joining KPN Orange as a Field Operations Regional Manager from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, Marco joined BASE as a Field Operations Manager and later became an Outsourcing Demand Manager responsible for network operations outsourcing. Marco continued to advance within BASE, taking on roles such as Head of Operations and Head of Network Services & Operations. In 2012, they joined BASE Company as the Head of ICT Operations and later became the Head of Procurement and Partner Management. Marco then joined Telenet in 2016 as the VP of Mobile Operations and Fixed Voice. Marco subsequently held positions as the VP of Network Operations, VP Operations Network and IT, and currently serves as the VP of Infrastructure & Operations. Throughout their career, Marco has demonstrated expertise in network operations, outsourcing management, resourcing, and budget responsibilities.

Marco De Castro attended Johannesburg Technical college from 1986 to 1988, where they obtained a NTC6 degree. Prior to that, they attended John Orr Technical High from 1981 to 1985. The start and end years for their education before John Orr Technical High are not specified.
