Karthik Chellappan has a diverse range of work experience. Karthik is currently working as a Software Integration Lead at Teleo, where they focus on providing autonomous technology for heavy equipment. Previously, they worked at AEye, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed perception algorithms for autonomous vehicles. Before that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where they developed algorithms and software for data analytics problems. Karthik also worked as an Analyst at Toyon Research Corporation, where they focused on algorithm development in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Algorithms Group. Additionally, they had teaching assistant roles at UC Santa Barbara and gained internship experience at Sonos, Inc., FLIR Systems, and Qualcomm. Karthik has a solid educational background, having been an undergraduate member at Integrated Systems Laboratory and studying at UC Santa Barbara.
Karthik Chellappan obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy. Karthik attended this institution from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Chettinad Vidyashram from 2004 to 2010, where they achieved an AISSCE degree with a focus on Science. Following their bachelor's degree, Karthik pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Santa Barbara from 2014 to 2015.
In addition to their formal education, Karthik has also obtained several certifications. Karthik completed the "Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark" course from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne through Coursera in June 2017. In July 2016, they obtained a certification for completing the "Algorithms, Part I" course from Princeton University through Coursera. Karthik also acquired a certification in "Deep Learning (with Google TensorFlow)" from Udacity in February 2016. Further, Karthik completed the "Machine Learning" course from Stanford University through Coursera in January 2016. Additionally, they obtained the JLPT N5 certification from the Japan Foundation in July 2013.
