Maria Short

Maria Short is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in satellite systems and engineering. Currently serving as a LEO Satellite Systems Engineering Specialist at Telesat since September 2020, Maria previously held the position of Systems Engineer at exactEarth Ltd from April 2011 to August 2020, where a technical lead role was undertaken for numerous satellite projects focused on space-based AIS. Prior experience includes contributions as a Systems of Systems Architecture Modelling Engineer at ESA/ESTEC, conducting acceptance testing and modeling ESA programs, and analyzing airborne meteorological radar data at the NRC Institute for Aerospace Research. Maria's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, and Systems from Carleton University.
