Telesat
Matthieu Turmel is a seasoned Satellite Engineering Specialist at Telesat, with a career spanning from May 1998 to the present, where currently leads operations for the Telesat Lightspeed program and the LEO1 satellite. Turmel holds technical engineering authority for various spacecraft, including Anik F1, Anik F2, and Viasat 2, among others, and is responsible for on-call duties. Prior to Telesat, Turmel served as a System Engineer at the Canadian Space Agency, focusing on the flight qualification of the Star Tracker for the ODIN Spacecraft. Educational achievements include a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and a degree in Space Sciences from the Royal Military College of Canada, along with foundational education at College Militaire Royal de St-Jean.
