Richard Brisland

Richard Brisland is a seasoned technical writer with extensive experience in various high-tech sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Writer at Telesat since March 2020, Richard is involved with the LEO (low earth orbit) project. Prior to this role, Richard worked at Quest Software from April 2016 to March 2020, contributing as a Senior Technical Writer on the Microsoft Management team. Richard held the position of Technical Writer Team Lead at Avaya from January 2010 to 2016, where leadership skills were demonstrated by managing a documentation team on a globally-distributed product team. Earlier experience includes serving as a Technical Writer at Nortel Networks from 1998 to 2009, leading efforts on a standards-based optical network management solution, and as a Customer Training Manager at Motorola from 1994 to 1998, where Richard developed training courses for a Unix-based wireless network. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Calgary.
