Cristina Gamez

Post-doctoral Research Fellow And Lab Manager, Childhood Allergy And Immunology Research at Telethon Kids Institute

Cristina Gamez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of allergy research and molecular biology. Since 2019, they have been working as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Lab Manager at the Telethon Kids Institute, where they lead the lab management of the Childhood Allergy and Immunology Research (CAIR) Group and provides lab advice and co-supervision for PhD students. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at the Childhood Allergy and Immunology Research, School of Paediatrics and Child Health, UWA from 2015.

Cristina also has experience as a Biologist at IIS Fundación Jiménez Díaz from 2008 to 2014, where they were involved in the characterization and identification of new allergenic proteins using mass spectrometry and molecular biology techniques. Cristina has expertise in various analytical methods and has published scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals.

During their research stay at the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Allergy Research, Medical University of Vienna from 2011 to 2012, Cristina worked on the Hypoallergenic derivatives of Pru p 3 for immunotherapy of IgE mediated peach allergy project.

Cristina has also worked as a Biologist in the R&D and Quality Control Departments at Inmunal from 2006 to 2007, where they conducted physical and chemical analysis of vaccines, microbiological analysis, and contributed to the development of new allergic diagnostic methods.

In addition, Cristina has experience as a Technician and Scholar in the R&D, Production, and Quality Control Departments at Diater laboratorios in 2005 and 2006, where they gained hands-on experience in various aspects of research and development in a laboratory setting.

Cristina Gamez began their education in 1998 at the Universidad de Alcalá, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Cristina completed their undergraduate studies in 2005. In 2008, they enrolled at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they obtained a Master's degree in Immunology in 2009. Currently, Cristina is pursuing a PhD in Biology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a program they started in 2014 and is still ongoing. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained one in September 2022, specifically the "Interview Master Class" from LinkedIn.
