David Martino

Group Lead, Clinical Epigenetics at Telethon Kids Institute

David Martino has over 20 years of work experience in various research roles. David is currently a Group Lead for Clinical Epigenetics at the Telethon Kids Institute since 2018. Prior to that, they worked as an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne starting in 2012. From 2011 to 2017, David held multiple positions at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute including Team Leader for Lab Research in Gastro and Food Allergy, Postdoctoral Fellow for the Gastro and Food Allergy Research Team, and Postdoctoral Research Scientist for the Cancer and Disease Epigenetics Research Team. David started their research career at The University of Western Australia where they served as a Clinical Trial Coordinator from 2005 to 2006 and a Research Assistant for the Arbovirus Surveillance Unit in 2003. In 2001, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Gene Therapy Research Team at the AUSTRALIAN NEUROMUSCULAR RESEARCH INSTITUTE LIMITED.

David Martino completed their education at The University of Western Australia. David first obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from 1997 to 2000. David then pursued a Bsc. (Hons) degree in Neuromuscular research from 2002 to 2003. Lastly, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Allergy and Immunology from 2007 to 2010.
