Heidi Mäkelä

Heidi Mäkelä leads the Group Tech & Data Legal, Special Investigations and Whistleblowing Team in Corporate Affairs. Her team is responsible for security, privacy, data, AI and product safety related legal matters at Group level. Her team also has the responsibility for whistleblowing related and other corporate investigations at Group level, as well as ownership of the related policies, instructions, processes and tools.

Group Tech & Data Legal provides legal support to Telia's Common Technology Unit and Group Functions and coordinate legal counsels' work in our legal areas in order to ensure aligned legal advisory across all business units and group functions and unified legal requirement setting in Telia. Team together with local lawyers is partner to all our business units and group functions and operate in 5 countries.

Before her current role, Heidi Mäkelä has worked as Group Legal Privacy Director in Telia Company and as Senior Legal Counsel responsible for privacy and marketing related legal matters in Telia Finland. Heidi Mäkelä has also worked in several law firms and taken the court training.
