Founder and CEO at Telica Microbials

Leonardo Solórzano Buitrago is the Founder and CEO of Telica Microbials since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked at the Colombian Corporation of Agricultural Research (AGROSAVIA), where they held multiple roles. Leonardo was a Senior Advisor for the Executive Director from May 2019 to August 2019. From November 2015 to May 2019, they served as the Director of Technology Transfer and Adoption, where they designed and executed strategies for various departments. Additionally, they were the Director of the Tibaitatá Research Center from May 2014 to October 2015, overseeing a significant research project portfolio. Before their time at AGROSAVIA, Leonardo worked as a Commercial Sub-manager at Sumitomo Corporation Colombia SAS from April 2013 to April 2014. Leonardo also held the position of Priority Operations Manager at ADV - Alianza y Dirección en Valores from March 2011 to September 2012. Prior to that, Leonardo gained experience in management positions at Florintegral S.A., where they merged operations and oversaw various areas such as planning, innovation, process, marketing, and technical. Leonardo worked at Florintegral S.A. from November 2002 to November 2010. Leonardo began their career as a Becario colciencias at Cenicafe, starting in 1998 and continuing until 2000.

Leonardo Solórzano Buitrago has a diverse education history. In 1993, they graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with a degree in Agronomic Engineering, specializing in Phytopathology. From 2004 to 2005, Leonardo pursued a Master's degree in International Plant Nutrition in Protected Horticultural Crops from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. Leonardo then went on to attend the INALDE Business School from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management. In 2017, Leonardo furthered their education at the Harvard Business School Executive Education, where they completed a program titled "Creating Shared Value: Competitive Advantage Through Social Impact," focusing on general business administration and management. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications, including "Prepare Data for Exploration," "Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions," and "Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere" from Google, as well as "Bridging the Gap between Strategy Design and Delivery" from the Brightline Initiative in 2018.
