Preetha Balakrishnan, PhD

Preetha Balakrishnan, PhD has a diverse background in medical research and data curation. Currently, they serve as a Medical Researcher and Data Curator at Temedica. Prior to this, they held a role as a Data Curator at the same company. From 2015 to 2019, Preetha worked as a Research Scientist at Universitätsklinikum Jena, focusing on understanding the underlying mechanisms of palmitate-mediated endothelial dysfunction. During this time, they assumed the roles of Imaging Specialist and data analyst, successfully developing and optimizing protocols for immunofluorescence microscopy. Before joining Universitätsklinikum Jena, Preetha was a Scientist III at Strand Life Sciences from 2013 to 2015. Preetha began their career at Cellworks Research India Pvt Ltd in 2009, where they worked as a Biomodeling Research Scientist. Preetha'sresponsibilities included data curation, in-silico model development, optimization and data analysis, coordination of training programs, knowledge-sharing and scientific exchange, and technical development. Preetha is passionate about computational biology and has continually expanded their skills and knowledge in the field.

Preetha Balakrishnan, PhD, has a diverse education history. Preetha obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Cell Biology from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Before that, they pursued a B1 TELC degree in German Studies at Zentrum für Integration (ZIB) in 2020.

Preetha also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Bio-Chemistry from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, which they completed between 2007 and 2009. Preetha earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology from Bangalore Jobs Youth in 2007.

Furthermore, Preetha completed their Pre-University Course (PUC) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at Maharani Lakshmi Ammani Womens College in Bangalore from 2002 to 2004. Preetha'ssecondary education was obtained from Cluny Convent High School, where they completed the ICSE examination from 1992 to 2002.
