Gene Edwards

Gene Edwards has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1994 as Plant Manager at US Filter Recovery Services. In this role, they managed and directed a 16-person staff in Production, Purchasing, EH&S/OSHA/EPA, Transportation, Delivery and Construction/Maintenance operations in the Environmental sector. Gene then moved to Doe & Ingalls - A Thermo Fisher Scientific Brand in 1999, as Operations Manager. In this role, they managed and directed a 12-person staff in Clean Room, Purchasing, EH&S/OSHA/EPA, Transportation, Warehousing, and Delivery operations in the high-purity chemicals 3PL sector. In 2002, they began working at The Winebow Group / The Country Vintner as Logistics Manager, developing and managing a three-person staff and contractors through the daily operations and efficiency projects in international and domestic supply chain and cold chain operations. Gene was promoted to Director of Logistics in 2013, where they developed and directed a five-person staff and managed contractors through efficiency projects in international and domestic supply chain and cold chain operations. In 2015, they moved to Priority Logistics as Internal Business Operations Consultant, leading and directing the seven-person operations division of Priority Logistics, Inc. toward reorganization. In 2016, they began working at Rockin' Baby as Operations and Logistics Manager, directing the four-person staff and managing the import and distribution operations and logistics for a children’s clothing wholesaler and B2C company. In 2017, they began working at RetailData, LLC as Director of Logistics Planning & Optimization, responsible for analysis and planning of RetailData production plans. Gene was laid off due to COVID-related reasons in 2020. Gene then began working at Eldridge Hardscape Creations, Inc. as a Driver/Seasonal Laborer and at Career Prospectors as a Volunteer Mentor/Consultant/Advisor. In 2020, they also began working at TemperPack as Inventory Manager, and was later assigned the additional duty of Purchasing Manager.

Gene Edwards' education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech between 1984 and 1988, and an Honor Graduate from the US Army Chemical Officer's Basic Course in Leadership in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Operations from 1988 to 1989. Gene also attended The NC School of Science and Mathematics in 1983-1984, and obtained an Airborne Qualified certification from the US Army Airborne School in 1989. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn and the American Heart Association since 2017.
