Kestrel P.

Lead Systems And Simulation Engineer at TemperPack

Kestrel P. has a diverse work experience in engineering and research. In 2021, Kestrel began working as a Thermal Packaging Engineer at TemperPack, where they developed and executed over 150 environmental chamber tests in one of the nation's largest ISTA certified thermal transport labs. Kestrel also expanded E-commerce and life science capabilities through predictive modeling and lane risk assessment, and developed thermal simulation tools for fast and accurate approximation of product performance.

In 2019, Kestrel began working at OptiGrate Corp. (an IPG Photonics Company) as an Engineering Intern. In this role, they designed parts in SOLIDWORKS for optics related mechanical components, identified and implemented environmental sensing systems, and operated optical testing devices and glass melt furnaces while improving testing standards. Kestrel also worked as an Optical Glass Technician Intern at OptiGrate Corp., where they operated precision CNC machines and preformed optical glass measurements and mapping of glass samples.

Kestrel also worked at the University of Central Florida in 2019, where they served as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Computational Biomechanics Laboratory. In this role, they prototyped electro-mechanical tire abrasion testing system in collaboration with National Center for Forensic Science, designed and validated a bone growth testing device with CFD simulations, and served as Student Lead for Rotary Abrasion Testing & Design from 2019-2021. Kestrel also completed an Honors Undergraduate Thesis Program in 2020 and was a recipient of the Spring 2020 OUR Student Research Grant and Summer 2020 Undergraduate Research Fellowship.

Kestrel P. obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida in 2021. In 2020, Kestrel P. obtained a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate - Mechanical Design (CSWA) from Dassault Systèmes. In 2021, Kestrel P. obtained a Responsible Packaging by Design certification from ISTA - International Safe Transit Association. In 2022, Kestrel P. obtained a Certified Thermal Professional - Level 1 certification from ISTA - International Safe Transit Association and a Certified Thermal Professional - Level 2 certification from ISTA - International Safe Transit Association.
