Rex Conklin has extensive experience in the field of media and marketing. Rex began their career at Sears, Roebuck and Co., where they worked in various advertising, media, marketing, and buying roles for nearly two decades. After leaving Sears, they joined Univision Radio as the Director of Marketing & Media, where they developed corporate marketing strategy and media plans for the radio stations. Rex also initiated a cross-promotional advertising program between Univision radio and television groups.
Following their time at Univision Radio, Rex joined Walmart as the Senior Marketing Director - Integrated Media. In this role, they built a world-class media competency for the company, overseeing a team of 100+ media planners, buyers, and corporate staff. Rex was responsible for strategy, implementation, and process development for Walmart's $800+ million annual media investment across various platforms.
After leaving Walmart, Rex joined The Home Depot as the Director of Integrated Media and Partnership Marketing. At The Home Depot, they led total market media planning and investment strategy across all media channels and customer segments. Rex also drove partnership marketing strategy and activation, including the iconic College Game Day platform on ESPN.
Rex later founded their own consulting firm, Conklin Media Consulting, where they served as the Principal/Chief Media Officer. Rex provided media consulting services to clients before joining Evergreen Trading as a member of their Advisory Board. Evergreen is a media trading firm based in NYC that offers unique financial and marketing services to consumer product and services companies through a joint venture with Horizon Media.
Currently, Rex is working as the Director - Integrated Media at Tempur Sealy International. Rex joined the company in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing integrated media strategies. Throughout their career, Rex has held leadership positions in various organizations and committees, including serving as the Co-Chair of the Media Leadership Committee at the Association of National Advertisers.
Rex Conklin holds a B.A. degree in Advertising and Marketing from Marquette University. Rex also obtained an MBA in Marketing from Roosevelt University.
