Gabriel Altay

Gabriel Altay currently serves as a Senior Staff Machine Learning Scientist at Tempus AI, where responsibilities include enhancing clinical trial matching using large language models and developing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques. Previously, Gabriel held roles as Staff Machine Learning Scientist at Tempus AI, Board Member at HACDC, Chair of the Economics of Misinformation Working Group at Credibility Coalition, and Machine Learning Engineer at Kensho Technologies, where contributions focused on machine learning models for geopolitical analysis. Earlier experience includes positions at Aledade, Inc., Narrative Science, and postdoctoral research at both Georgia Institute of Technology and Durham University, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and computational cosmology. Gabriel holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Physics and Mathematics from Illinois State University.
