Denise Barnes

Denise Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Denise started their career as a Financial/Accounts Administrator at General Medical Council in 2003, where they were responsible for daily reconciliation of accounts and balancing reports. Denise then worked as an Agent at Roadshock Limited, handling various tasks related to talent representation. After that, they served as a Treasury Administrator at Mitsubishi Corporation (UK) in 2005.

In 2006, Denise joined Chameleon Productions CC (Chris Chameleon & Boo!) as a Business, Production & Artist Manager, playing a key role in Chris Chameleon's career as a musician and actor. During their time with the company, they were involved in the business management, negotiation of contracts, and successful implementation of various projects. Denise continued their career as a Business, Production, and Artist Manager at Parlostar, where they supported Kahn Morbee (The Parlotones) in launching their solo career and overseeing the release of their first solo album.

In 2014, Denise became the Productions and Events Manager at VodkaFest Cape Town, where they managed the production and execution of events. Denise also worked as the CEO, Business, and Production Manager at ILUMINAR PRODUCTIONS from 2016 to 2019. Denise then joined Cape Town Music Academy (CTMA) as a Production & Social Media Manager, overseeing project and production management, negotiating contracts, and handling marketing and sponsorship activities.

Their most recent experience is with Creative Intellect, where they serve as an Event/Programme/Project Manager. In this role, they independently manage various contractual projects, including consulting with artists, arranging tours, delivering lectures and panel discussions, and coordinating album releases.

Throughout their career, Denise has demonstrated excellent leadership, project management, and negotiation skills. Denise has received recognition for their work, including nominations for South African Music Award and Stellenbosch University Word Festival, as well as winning the Best Musical Production award at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival.

Denise Barnes has a diverse education history. Denise first attended Victoria Park High School from 1988 to 1992, where they completed their high school education. Following that, they pursued a B.Juris degree in Law at the University of Port Elizabeth (now known as Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University). Denise completed this degree in 1999. Additionally, Denise obtained a Certificate in Major Event Management from City, University of London in 2003, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Relations in the same year. It should be noted that Denise's B Juris degree in Law was obtained from the University of Port Elizabeth, although the specific month and year are not provided.
