Rick Garvin

Rick Garvin has extensive experience as a senior technology consultant, working with various companies in a range of industries. Rick is currently employed at OneMain Financial as a Sr. Technology Consultant Machine Learning, where they are involved in the evolution of their Machine Learning Workbench and Credit Execution Engine. Their responsibilities include conducting discovery exercises, market surveys, and vendor selections, as well as implementing Amazon SageMaker for model workbench and execution.

Prior to their current role, Rick worked at Ten Mile Square Technologies, LLC. as the Managing Director and Sr. Technology Consultant. In this position, they managed the day-to-day operations of the company and collaborated with clients in entertainment, media, health, travel, financial services, and e-commerce sectors. Their focus was on technology product development practices, on-demand applications, technology team remediation, company turnaround, interim CTO, and enterprise architecture.

Rick also served as a Sr. Technology Consultant at SoundExchange, where they provided expert advice and assistance. Additionally, they worked as a CTO Consultant at JSI, contributing their expertise in technology leadership and consulting.

Furthermore, Rick has experience working with organizations such as FINRA, where they were a Sr. Technology Consultant, specializing in market surveillance and machine learning. Rick evaluated platforms for machine learning and handled tasks related to supervised and unsupervised machine learning, anomaly detection, model management, visualization, workflow, data integration, operations, and big data scale.

Rick Garvin graduated from Bowie High School in 1981. Rick then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, which they completed in 1988.
