Martin Valdez

Martin Valdez is an experienced R&D Director at Tenaris, holding leadership roles in Metallurgy, Materials, and Structural Integrity since 2006. Valdez oversees the development of new materials and processes for steel pipe production, addressing material behavior in various manufacturing stages. Previous positions include Product Manager for Welded Pipes, where responsibilities encompassed product development and coordination across multiple countries, and Technological Coordinator, participating in the standardization of steel design post-Maverick Tube acquisition. Valdez also has a postdoctoral fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on liquid metal wettability, and earlier experience in metallurgy and steelmaking research at Tenaris. Valdez holds a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master's in Steelmaking from the University of Buenos Aires, and an Engineering degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata.
