Amy Henderson has a diverse work experience that spans different industries and roles. Amy is the CEO and Co-Founder of TendLab, where they work with companies and parents to promote the integration of parenthood in the workplace. Amy has also founded the FamTech Founder Collaborative and currently serves as a Steering Committee Member. Amy co-founded Dream Corps and served as the Chief Innovation Officer of #YesWeCode, an initiative that aimed to train youth of color in computer programming. At Ashoka, they were the Founding Director of Youth Venture in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they developed and executed strategic plans to empower youth to launch social ventures. As the Founding Director of the US office of Grameen Shakti, Amy worked to promote renewable energy solutions in rural Bangladesh through microloans. Amy also established an independent media company and produced an award-winning documentary about youth action in response to climate change. Amy started their career as a Socially Responsible Investing Account Manager at Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi, where they learned about the power of storytelling and experienced the impact of climate change firsthand.
Amy Henderson pursued their education at the University of California, Davis, from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychobiology. Later, in 2003 and 2004, they attended the University of San Francisco as an MFA Candidate in Creative Writing, with a focus on Non-Fiction.
