Shannon Downing has diverse work experience spanning over several years. Currently, Shannon holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Tenet Health Central Coast since April 2022. Prior to this role, Shannon worked at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for nearly 14 years, starting as the Manager of Marketing in October 2008 and later becoming the Director of Marketing for the Central Coast Region in February 2015. Before joining Sierra Vista, Shannon worked as the Community Relations & Office Manager for Rex A. Yannis, MD from October 2007 to August 2008. Shannon also served as the Marketing Manager at Limberg Eye Surgery, Inc. from January 2005 to October 2006, and as a Producer at KSBY TV from June 2003 to January 2005.
Shannon Downing earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Grand Canyon University between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, they attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1999 to 2003, where they pursued a degree in Journalism.

Tenet Health Central Coast is an integrated healthcare system consisting of two acute care hospitals and four affiliated entities, including urgent care centers, clinics and ancillary services, across the Central Coast. The hospitals are Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, the county’s only trauma center, in San Luis Obispo, California, and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, California.
