Tim Thurnau

Tim Thurnau has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tim has held positions at various companies, including Tenneco, Adient, Hertz, Tenneco Inc., Ally Financial Inc., Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Allstate Insurance.

At Tenneco, Tim currently serves as the VP & Chief Architect, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Adient from 2020 to 2023 as a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Consultant, leading IT strategy and projects related to cloud adoption, architecture, and datacenter consolidation.

During their time at Hertz from 2015 to 2019, Tim held two roles: Sr. Director - Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations and Sr. Director - Client Computing & Field Technology. In these positions, they led teams that provided support for cloud-based applications, drove the adoption of cloud native technologies, and oversaw end-user computing and field services.

From 2014 to 2015, Tim worked as a Sr. IT Consultant - Contract at Tenneco Inc., where they provided guidance on end-user computing solutions and implemented an enterprise mobility management platform.

At Ally Financial Inc., Tim held the role of Director - Mobile and Collaboration Technology from 2008 to 2014. In this position, they managed operational and architectural design/support for mobile, conferencing, and remote access technologies.

Prior to that, Tim worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as the Director of Voice Technology from 2006 to 2008, overseeing mobile and telecommunications technology for National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car.

Tim's early career includes roles at Allstate Insurance, where they worked as a Sr. Agency Process and Technology Manager, Network Engineer, and Agency Technology Consultant from 1995 to 2006. In these positions, they supported the company's sales organization, managed technology budgets, and provided technical expertise.

Tim Thurnau holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology. Additionally, Tim obtained various certifications including Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate, ITIL - Foundations v3, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security (MCSE).
