Alan Gilbert is a co-owner at Tenn Tech LLC since May 2001, specializing in technical sales and business development for multiple principals through channel and technology-based networking. Additionally, Alan has volunteered as a scuba diver at the Tennessee Aquarium since May 2009, where responsibilities include shark guarding and aquarium maintenance. Alan held the position of Industry Marketing Manager – Automotive South at Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. from June 2011 to January 2012, focusing on marketing support for the Asian automotive market, with a notable achievement in developing a vertical marketing strategy for the tire industry. Prior to these roles, Alan contributed to Bridgestone Firestone as Plant Engineering Section Manager, overseeing plant engineering functions and managing renovation and construction operations. Alan holds a B.S.M.E. from the University of Tennessee at Martin, with a focus on program management, business management, statistics, manufacturing technologies, and CAD.

Located on the banks of the Tennessee River in Chattanooga and surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains, the Tennessee Aquarium tells the story of the river – following the path of a raindrop from the streams of an Appalachian Forest to the Gulf of Mexico – from the mountains to the sea. Although the Aquarium has grown in size and in animal population since it’s opening in 1992, its story and its mission as a private, non-profit institution have remained the same; ‘to inspire wonder, appreciation and protection of water and all life that it sustains.’
