Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators - TAPM
Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators exists to promote community, education, and excellence for mediators in TN and throughout the world. We also strive to promote mediation as a primary approach to conflict resolution and conflict transformation at all stages of the conflict process. Conflict is a normal occurrence in both our work and personal lives. Yet many of us haven't learned how to successfully negotiate conflict, when we have so much on the line. Mediators serve as impartial helpers in conflict. We hold a safe place for people who are in disputes to come together to find their own resolution to their problems. This is a confidential process, where people can be honest and transparent and find creative alternatives to their disagreements. What happens in mediation, stays in mediation. Contrary to the natural acrimony that is the legal process, mediation strives to build bridges. The process not only allows for relationships to stay intact, in many cases relationships are enhanced through the communication process and mutual understanding.
