Zachary Adams currently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Workforce Alignment and the Director of Postsecondary Coordination & Alignment at the Tennessee Board of Regents, a position held since January 2020. Previously, Zachary worked for the State of Tennessee from May 2017 to January 2020 as the Program Director of District & Industry Engagement, focusing on college and career readiness initiatives across the state. Earlier experience includes roles as Program Manager at the Department of Education, 7th Grade Science Teacher at Valor Collegiate Academies, and Lead Teacher at RePublic Schools, highlighted by leading students to top performance in science assessments. As a Corps Member with Teach for America, Zachary taught high school science in Mississippi. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Houghton University.
