Michael Studer serves as the State Apiarist for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture since December 2007, focusing on the development of regulatory programs to protect honeybees from various threats. Prior to this role, Michael held multiple positions at the University of Tennessee from October 1992 to December 2007, including Research Specialist II, Data Coordinator/Research Assistant, and Graduate Research Assistant. Additionally, experiences include working as a Field Biologist at 3D Environmental Services, Inc., part-time faculty at Eastern Kentucky University, and a Zoologist for The Nature Conservancy. Michael's educational background includes a B.A. in Biology with an emphasis in Biology/Ecology from Thomas More College, followed by studies at Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
