Dr. William (Bill) Johnson joined TSU in 2010 as the Director of Teacher Education and Assistant Dean for the College of Education. Since his arrival on campus, he has also served the university as the interim Department Chair of Human Performance and Sport Sciences and as the Interim Assistant Dean and Chief Analytics Officer for the College of Health Sciences. Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in sport administration from the University of New Mexico, a master’s degree in education from Stanford University, a bachelor’s degree in physical education from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and an Associate in Arts degree from De Anza College. He is the author of two national market textbooks, over 70 peer reviewed publications, and six software applications. He is the recipient of over $2 million dollars in grants and awards and is a tenured full professor in the Human Performance and Sport Sciences department. He has served as a consultant to multiple higher education institutions and corporate entities including Apple, Samsung, Intel, Sun Microsystems, and Owens Corning Fiberglass. Dr. Johnson is a curriculum and strategic planning expert.
