Menno van Oostveen has a diverse range of work experience. Menno started their career in 2000 as an Attorney at law at AKD Prinsen Van Wijmen, specializing in insolvency, corporate (recovery), securities, and litigation. Menno then transitioned to the energy industry, joining TenneT TSO B.V. as a Project Manager from 2010 to 2011. Menno later became a Legal Counsel at TenneT, specializing in international cooperations, energy law, and regulation from 2006 to 2013. Menno also held roles as a Team Manager, ad interim Team Manager, and Manager in Strategic IT Services at TenneT, responsible for various IT services. Since 2020, they have been serving as the Head of Strategic IT Services at TenneT. In addition, they served as a Board Member at the Dutch Energy Law Association NeVER from 2012 to 2017. Throughout their career, Menno has published articles and given courses on various legal topics.

Menno van Oostveen completed their Bachelor of Engineering in engineering and business administration at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1993 to 1997. Menno then pursued a Master's degree in Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1997 to 2001. In 2002, they completed the "Beroepsopleiding advocatuur", which is the obligatory professional education for being an attorney at law in the Netherlands, at Orde van Advocaten. In 2006, they obtained a Certificate of Energy Law from VU Amsterdam. Menno continued their education with various professional development programs, including a Management Development program at TenneT TSO B.V. from 2010 to 2013 and the KIM Professional Management Training at Van Harte & Lingsma in 2012. In 2015, they completed the Erasmus Executive Programme in Strategic Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and in 2020, they attended the Challenge of Leadership program at the same institution.
