Sherif Abdou, PhD, P.Eng has a diverse range of work experiences spanning various roles and industries. Currently, they serve as the General Manager of Business Development at Mohawk College's IDEAWORKS and as the Interim General Manager of the Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre.

Sherif is also the Director and Co-Founder of Tenomix Inc., where they hold a leadership position. In addition, they co-founded FloNergia Inc. and served as the Chief Operating Officer.

Sherif has also worked as a Principal at Smart Perceptions and held positions as a Sessional Faculty at the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University and as a Sessional Lecturer at the W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology.

Furthermore, they have served as an Associate Graduate Faculty at the University of Guelph, where they supervised graduate students and conducted joint research programs.

Sherif has also held roles at WORLDiscoveries, where they were a Medical Innovation Fellow, and at Vida Fresh Air Corp., where they worked as a Senior Research and Development Scientist, managing testing and product development.

Earlier in their career, they worked at the Thermal Management Research Laboratory at McMaster University as a Research Associate, Teaching and Research Assistant, Presider/Invigilator, Entrepreneurial Assistant, and Department Representative/Member.

Throughout their various roles, Sherif has demonstrated expertise in areas such as business development, additive manufacturing, entrepreneurship, product development, testing, and research.

Sherif Abdou, PhD, P.Eng has a strong educational background in mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics. Sherif obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from Ain Shams University from 1994 to 1999. Subsequently, Sherif pursued their academic career at McMaster University, where they earned a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in AeroAcoustics, Flow-Induced Vibration, Fluid-Structure Interaction, and Flow Control between 2001 and 2004. Sherif further expanded their expertise by completing a PhD in MEMS/Microfluidics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) at McMaster University from 2004 to 2013. Additionally, Sherif received a PhD certification from the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University in June 2014, further solidifying their academic achievements.

As for professional certifications, Sherif holds the designation of Professional Engineer (P.Eng), showcasing their commitment to the engineering field.
